Comments A perfect stay for a truly serene escape. The camping pod was cosy and well equipped, and the location is fantastic. Rhiannon was brilliant, communicative and always on hand to provide us with more firewood and charcoal when we requested it. We got engaged during our stay here, so we are already planning our return!
Rhiannon has been a great host, very kind and super helpful. We will definitely come back again.
Tips for other travellers We had a great meal at The Sussex Ox, offering locally sourced food. The Rathfinny Wine Estate is worth a visit, and Cuckmere Haven is a very comfortable walk from the camping pods. We also hiked the Seven Sisters to Beachy Head and back, which took us the most part of a day (with several short rest stops), but the views are absolutely stunning.

Comments One word: amazing!
My partner and I spent two nights here and everything was perfect. The pod was clean and tidy, yet comfortable and cozy. On Saturday, we travelled along the Seven Sister path from Seaford to Eastbourne and the camping location was just the perfect spot for that.
Rhiannon has been a great host, very kind and super helpful. We will definitely come back again.
Tips for other travellers The location is great if you want to visit Seaford, Eastbourne or the Seven Sisters. The pods are so nice and it’s a great place even if you want to stay there just enjoying the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the farm, looking at the stars while the fire pit keeps you warm.

Comments Our stay was just perfect, the pod had everything we needed in the perfect location, beautiful views, great long evenings sat outside, a short walk to the seven sister cliff walk and great places for coffees, suppers and brunch! Couldn’t recommend it more!
Tips for other travellers We had supper at Sussex Ox food was fab and a local selection of beers and wines. Then brunch at Singing Kettle, which was perfect too! We did the Seven Sisters cliff walk which was 20km to Eastbourne then got the bus back to a stop 5 minutes walk from the pod!

Comments Everything was absolutely immaculate within the camping pod and the scenery was breathtaking. Rhiannon was so pleasant and welcoming. The perfect getaway for our little family, we will 100% be returning in the future and have already recommended here to family and friends!
Tips for other travellers If you have little ones, Drusillas Zoo is only a short drive from here.
Trawlers restaurant in Seaford has some delicious food and Seaford beach is absolutely beautiful, quiet and well maintained, we got an ice cream and sat with a picnic on the beach.

Comments This was our first holiday with two small children. It was the perfect camping experience. It was clean, easy to locate, comfortable bedding and a luxury to have hot and cold running water. We enjoyed the fire pit and watching all the sheep, rabbits and birds. Oh, and our son loved the Barney bear cakes as a welcome treat. The road is quite bumpy to get there so prep your car. If you have little ones bring a carrier or an off road buggy.

Comments The pods are perfect, they are spotlessly clean and so well equipped, the bed was comfortable and we loved the little extra touches provided such as a selection of teabags, milk, biscuits etc. and camping chairs for sitting outside. The location is beautiful and really peaceful but an easy walk into Seaford where there are shops and places to eat. We feel like we’ve found a little hidden gem here!

Comments The pods are a perfect location to experience some of the most beautiful country side in the south, situated on the farm you experience nature and farming, the pods are fully equipped even with underfloor heating to help dry out those well worn hiking boots! The pods are amazingly comfortable.
Tips for other travellers Enjoy the scenery, the coastal walks and if energetic walk the seven sisters to birling gap for coffee and cake! Seaford has a great beach in the summer months, so much to explore!

Comments The pods are beautifully maintained and well equipped with everything you need. Sitting round the fire pit in the evening and star gazing is a must! The bed is comfortable, the shower room is clean and the shower is hot. What more could you want?! We’ll be back again!
Tips for other travellers Seaford is about a 30 min stroll . We went to Gino’s restaurant which was lovely and had a good atmosphere. Morrisons has a wide range of food if you want to barbecue at the pods. There are lots of local pubs too. If you don’t want to walk back there are taxis but you might be wise to book in advance.
Walks over the South Downs are endless and have beautiful views everywhere. We walked from Burlington Gap to Eastbourne which is about 6 miles and although hilly is not too strenuous.

Comments Gorgeous location, so calm and quiet but still within walking distance of the shops and local amenities. Great for family to get away from screens and noise and spend quality time or perfect for a cosy couples get away
Tips for other travellers Seaford is a perfect little town, good take always, pubs for everyone, the Wellington has a great selection of draft ales and beers, the plough lovely family pub with outdoor seating. Or for those prepared to walk through a field a great chain pub down on the cuckmere. Lovely walks within the National park, play areas, coffees shops on the seafront and amazing views over rolling fields

Comments It was exactly what we were looking for. Absolutely perfect. The pods were well stocked and had all the finishing touches. We had a tremendous stay with you. The one downside was that we didn't stay longer. But we will certainly be back. Loved every moment.
Tips for other travellers We walked from the pods to the top of the hill (South Barn?) and onto Beachy Head and back to Birling Gap. We caught a bus from Birling Gap to the Seven Sisters Visitors centre then walked back to the pods from there (the short way). The perfect location for that. A little over 22kms with our 8 year old son. Not any easy walk but an absolute must for this area.

Comments We honestly had the most loveliest of weekend! Lots of outdoors in both rain and shine, the Southdowns pod was cute and cosy, with everything you need from hot shower, cosy sleeping and sitting area to all cooking utensils! Most definitely will be returning in the future and have already told all my friends to get down there!
Tips for other travellers Lots of walking and exploring! We visited the Cuckmere Inn, Beachy Head and The Tigers Inn pub all after nice king treks with a cold pint as a reward! Perfect weekend!

Comments Wow what a beautiful place. The pod is just perfect and equipped with everything you need. It is super clean and modern and the loo is a proper loo and the shower was powerful and hot. Could not find a single fault! We absolutely loved our stay and I was very sad to leave! Thank you Rhiannon.
Tips for other travellers We came to the area primarily for the tennis at Eastbourne but wanted to stay out in the countryside and found this place on google. We did a big walk from Cuckmere to Eastbourne on the Saturday and got the bus back, which was very straightforward and there is a bus stop about 5mins walk from the pod. Cuckmere haven is a lovely beach.

Comments It was an extremely wonderful stay at Cuckmere Camping Pod, and it will definitely be one of the most memorable one throughout our trip at UK. First of all, Rhiannon ( the host) went extra miles in fetching us from the station and took us to get some groceries ( as we do not have our own transport to travel to the city), she is so kind and caring and made us felt at home. Secondly, the camping pod is really cozy and adorable! It has everything one needs for a few days stay : a comfortable bed, a nice kitchen, a clean bathroom... There is a beautiful bench to sit outside and relax and a fire pit! It's surrounded by a sheep farm and we were lucky to get a chance to interact with them! Most of all, the view of sunrise from the camping pod is splendid!
Tips for other travellers This place is perfect if you would like to visit the Cuckmere haven. It's about a 10 mins walk to the entrance of the land reserve and 30 mins walk to reach the heart of the Cuckmere haven.(Very easy walk with just comfortable shoes on).Not to mention the beautiful scenery throughout the entire walk. The whole place is bathed in crisp golden colour during both sunrise and sunset, definitely worthwhile for anyone who loves photography and wishes to catch the golden hour.

Comments Second time here, and will be back! So relaxing, pods beautifully clean and very well kitted out. Sitting by the open fire in the evening with no one anywhere apart from us and the moon and stars, what more do you need?
Tips for other travellers Walking by the Cuckmere river is so lovely, lots of birds, plants and fish to see along the way to the beach. We didn’t drive out anywhere in the day, just walked in the local area. Seaford has restaurants and pubs, but be aware some seemed to close earlier than their websites said.

Comments This was a wonderful experience. The location and views of the pods are absolutely perfect. All amenities have been catered for, with immaculate pods and equipment to support a very comfortable stay. With the options of fire pits and BBQ, we were extremely pleased with our family weekend.
Tips for other travellers The walks up to the Barn, excellent coffee and down towards the Seven Sisters is stunning. Exploring the Meaders within Cuckmere Valley is amazing, you can go paddle boarding or canoeing and also walk over Seaford Head and down to the beach. There is a fantastic ice-cream shack and loads of historical information, with a really clever museum at the Martello Tower.

Comments Beautiful location, spotless and really well thought out pods with just about everything needed for a comfortable stay; the pod was warm and cosy even in a blustery thunderstorm. Rhiannon is friendly and very helpful - kindly responding quickly to our last minute request for emergency charcoal! Thoroughly recommended for a relaxing stay.
Tips for other travellers The lane just before the field is quite pitted, so if your car doesn't have much clearance maybe better to park on the road.

Comments If you are looking for a spotlessly clean, perfectly presented place to stay, surrounded by the most beautiful scenery then this is it! Its just perfect. Whilst we were there we asked for some fire logs, they were at the pods within minutes of asking and then another lot delivered due to the fact it was windy and the host thought we may need some more as the first lot would've burnt quickly. Outstanding service! We will definitely be back!
Tips for other travellers We took the path opposite the Pods and did the most beautiful walk to Seven sisters.. the views are breathtaking.

Our experience at Cuckmere Camping Pods has been amazing.
Rhiannon is so lovely, kind and very well organised. The pod is fantastic and has everything that is needed for a very comfortable stay: underfloor heating, coffee machine, fridge, and a great shower.
We loved having a fire pit at night and the view from the pod is stunning.

Thank you - the pod was amazing. A lovely welcome touch with the little Easter chocolate rabbits, the hedgehog night light on immediate view was brilliant for my daughter, who is afraid of the dark. We had to turn the heating off - they must be so well insulated. I wondered what they would be like in hotter months though. Very comfortable, such a calming location. The fridge clicking on at night woke me a couple of times, but I don't know what you could do about that - and we were so exhausted the second night, I didn't hear it! Spotlessly clean, well equipped. Good communication. I was worried that I wasn't given the opportunity to pay earlier, as I worried I hadn't got a secure booking - but, on retrospect it didn't matter and in these times, maybe that was a good idea. We loved it!
Tips for other travellers
We were visiting friends, who no longer have the room to put us up - so spent a lot if time with them, but - the walk to Cuckmere beach/Bay was glorious, where we played for a while, then beautiful meandering walk up to the pub (Cuckmere Inn?), accompanied by egrets and serenaded by skylarks. Hearty lunch and an absolutely glorious afternoon spent on kayaks and S.U.Ps. The next day we had a beautiful, misty walk along the cliff in the other direction to Seaford sea front. Hung out on the beach, had lunch at The 50's inspired Salts Cafe and the kids played in the well equipped park and in the outdoor gym. I have recommended you already - but almost don't want to for fear of not being able to get in again.....

Rhiannon & Tom really value their guests. Our stay was perfect in every way. The Pod was lovely and warm, the bed was very comfortable. The pod had everything thing we needed and was 'Spotless'. For a relaxing comfortable break away from it all look no further. Lovely views from the Pod. Great walking and nearby pubs. I didn't really want to write this review this is a gem of a place that will get booked up so I have probably have shot myself in the foot and won't get in when I want to go again !

This was our third visit to Cuckmere Camping Pods, and we are already planning a return visit. This time my cousin and her husband and toddler stayed in the other pod. The toddler loved the sheep, the space, and meeting Jess the sheepdog.
Tips for other travellers
The Cricketers at Berwick does lovely food and is over the road from Berwick church which has murals by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. Middle Farm Shop has a great selection of ciders to taste and buy. In Seaford, Yowarths the fishmonger sells very fresh fish from their own boats as well as own smoked trout, mackerel and salmon. Also in Seaford, Walbrins is an excellent butcher which has a good greengrocers next door.

Very responsive to any queries we had. Appreciated that you were willing to share your farm and its fabulous location with us. The space on the plot was wonderful, the views were outstanding and watching the livestock in the landscape right in front of us was enchanting. Loved the privacy. BBQ facility and fire pit excellent and added to relaxation.

From start to finish, Rhiannon made our weekend stay amazing. She went above and beyond to cater for our needs. The place is beautiful, well maintained and the sheep in the morning are wonderful. We stayed here after our wedding and everything was set up for us to come home to, including a bottle of Prosecco and glasses. The fire pit was great. The fan was an absolute touch. No tv and no wifi meant we actually had to communicate! Great weekend!

A large family group inhabited the 2 pods for a week as well as having local family members visit socially for whole days. The big green space was ideal for teenagers and younger children to play and let off steam and the access to many walks was well used by members of the group.

Throughly enjoyed my time in the pod- really well suited to me as a solo traveler- everything there meant that I only had to bring food and clothes. It would be great if you had some salt and pepper- it was the one thing I forgot to take.
I loved the comfort of the bed and the pod itself felt very safe and cosy. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to others! It was so lovely to meet you Rhiannon and have a chat with you too.

Location was amazing- so many wonderful walks right on the doorstep.any with some stunning views of the seven sisters. I headed down to the cuckmere pub and river and walked along and friston Forrest was very lovely. Cute little coffee shop at the visitor centre near parking at friston Forrest. Lots of yummy cakes, sandwiches and drinks. Seaford is so close so easy to head in for lunch/dinner. I had yummy sandwiches from the cozy nook.

This was such a lovely stay and we had the best time, especially to get a change of scenery after the year everyone has had. It was refreshing and a perfect get away to feel unplugged, yet surrounded by adventure at the same time. While it was a staycation, it genuinely felt like we had travelled further afield to a new, beautiful destination.
Tips for other travellers
Try out the fire pit and bbq, it was so cool to enjoy these little additions surrounded by the fields of sheep and local area. As locals, we recommend checking out the South Hill Barn walk and view of the cottages where you can see the beach and the cliffs. Friston Forrest and East Dean are also nearby which are also a great walk and area to check out. You can also take a walk along the Cuckmere river where there is a pub (which should be open from middle May 2021). If you’re looking for coffee and doughnuts in Seaford town, check out Bacas for coffee and Burts Bakery for coffee and Holy Cow is a must for ice cream on sunny days.

The Cricketers in Berwick - lovely garden, good food, excellent beer and over the road from Berwick church which has murals painted by Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Quentin Bell.
Walbrin Butchers in Seaford, very good butchers - also has a small greengrocers next door which also sells bread and a small amount of deli items. Yowarth fishmongers in Seaford. Have their own boats, and also smoke their own fish.

The staff were really happy to accommodate us after we had to change our plans due to COVID-19. We had a fantastic stay in December 2020, the pod was really clean and had everything we needed for our stay - even though it was cold outside the pod was very cosy. The location is fantastic with some lovely walks nearby, and really close to some lovely pubs and restaurants.
Tips for other travellers
We had a lovely lunch in the Cuckmere Inn, and the Old Plough in Seaford was also lovely. The 12, 12A and 12X buses were really useful and took contactless card payment (correct change needed if you're paying by cash) - connecting Seaford and Eastbourne and stopping about a 5 minute walk from the Pod down Chyngton Lane. For a long day walking, we recommend walking from the camping pods to the coast, along Seven Sisters to Birling Gap, then carrying on to Beachy Head. Walking back up from there and connecting to the main road you can catch the 12 bus back to the pod.

Mattress on be could of done with being a bit firmer. Good lighting and number of power sockets. Outside was equipped with a good quality barbeque and fire pit.

We very much enjoyed Middle Farm, especially their home made cakes. Lots of lovely locally sourced ciders and wines to try. We have stayed in area before and if you have kids Eastbourne miniature railway is good. Seven Sisters is a fun walk and Birling gap is good for swimming and rock pooling. Alfriston is lovely for a walk around, lots of lovely restaurants and pubs, including the George. Lots of lovely things to do in Lewes too.

The pod has all the facilities you might need and is very comfortable. We were unlucky with the weather but the pod kept us dry and warm. The owner was easy and quick to communicate with. We’ll definitely be back.

Walking is the obvious thing to do in this part of the world with the seven sisters country park basically on your door step. There are beaches accessible by foot also. Rathfinny is definitely worth the jaunt, its a few miles away on foot and serves delicious food and exquisite wine. Also, close by is the farm shop which has everything we needed for our stay, including Cheese, eggs, and seasonal fresh vegetables. We only managed to do a few of the walks but intend to return and visit the tiny church in Lullington. There is also a crystal shop in Litlington which sells all sorts of treasures and worth a visit. In regards to things to do, rock pooling, swimming, paddle boarding, and just wandering along the coast and exploring is enough to keep anyone occupied for their stay!

Absolutely stunning place to unwind and relax. We took a lovely stroll around cuckmere in the evening and came back to a campfire - truly magical and can’t wait to visit again

Cuckmere beach is about 15 mins walk through country lanes, with stunning scenery at every angle. Seaford town is 5 mins drive away and has a number of lovely eateries and beach.

Absolutely wonderful in every way. What a beautiful spot for the pods! Would love to come back again with the children as so much for them to do and see on the local area. Highly recommended. Five stars all round. Well done on your fantastic achievement

We really enjoyed our stay and are already thinking of coming again!

We did a nice circular walk to East Dean through Friston Forest and back along the Seven Sisters. We had lunch at the Tiger Inn but make sure you make a reservation of you want to eat/drink there!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the pod! It was absolutely spotless and so beautifully done - a lot of thought has clearly gone into the layout and design of them. The bed was super comfy and the little extras like the coffee machine and milk frother added a real glamping feel. The surroundings are stunning and we really enjoyed using the firepit as we stargazed! We met both Rhiannon and Tom and they were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us! Would recommend 100% x

We were so impressed. Everything top notch and above expectations eg Lavazza coffee machine with milk frother and under floor heating. Our hosts Tom & Rhiannon were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Spectacular views out to Cuckmere Valley and 7 Sisters. A fire pit too! Couldn’t have asked for more. Hope to be back as soon as we can :)

Lots of things to do....Easy walk to Cuckmere Inn (pre-book table during C19). Cuckmere Haven is great for paddling of any sort including kayaks and boards (only one public toilet at the upper level Parking though & not open during C19). NB get to car park early on weekend etc. You can hire down there too. And even put in by the pub if no car and on foot. Amazing variety of walks/treks in area. Seaford is a nice quiet beach town, with little of the tacky amusements and high rises you get elsewhere (multiple open public toilets too). Tom happy to help with logs and kindling for fire pit. Enjoy guys!
